Jóhan Christiansen has been serving as the Minister of Fisheries and Infrastructure since March 10, 2025, representing the Tjóðveldi party.
He has a strong background in leadership and industry. Jóhan served as Mayor of Eysturkommuna from 2009 to 2020 and previously worked as Operations Manager at Ocean Rainforest, a leading innovator in sustainable seaweed aquaculture.
With a degree in political science and extensive leadership experience, Jóhan is dedicated to advancing sustainable fisheries and building resilient infrastructure to benefit his community and the nation. His proven track record of public service and industry expertise supports his commitment to promoting sustainable growth and development.
Jóhan is from Leirvík, where he lives with his wife and their two daughters.
