Joel Cole

Joel Cole is a Faroese American who has traveled to and lived in the Faroe Islands for nearly 40 years.

His work incorporates natural materials (mostly wood derived from his native Minnesota River valley) used in unique ways to address the human condition as it relates to being foreign, strange, and on the periphery.

His art is located in an abandoned NATO base high in the mountains just north of the capital of Tórshavn.

He lives in a small village with his wife and three children, his two older children live in America.
